Re: Moles and Coconut Oil [Forum: Skin Health]
Fri, 16 May 2008 19:44:00 EST
I just started using VCO today, but in the past I got rid of a small, raised mole with castor oil, rubbing it into the mole twice a day. The mole gradually became rough and scaly and then one day just flaked off. It was on my face, and it left no scar. The entire process took some weeks, so we have to be patient.

If I find that VCO does the same, I'll let you all know.

No, but have you read about DMSO? It's a derivative of wood and is used for scleroderma with amazing results. Look it up on the internet.

I wanted to say that adding the coconut oil is a good start. I also want to say that after reading tons about what the best informed nutritionist say, they advocate eliminating ALL grains, potatoes, and certain vegetables from your diet, as well as adding lots of raw vegetables and foods. Eat green or eat things that eat green! Probiotics are very important, but one does not fit all. The one with coagulans (longanase) seems to help almost everyone. You need to balance your ratio of omega 3s to your omega 6s.

Re: nausea from coconut oil [Forum: General]

Yes, I have also experienced nausea from taking coconut oil. I've only been taking it for about a week now so I hope that it will get better. I backed off some because I started off with several tablespoons per day. Now I am only cooking with it and taking no more than one tablespoons per meal if I take it then. I am also giving it to my little dog who weighs 15 lbs but I only let her lick the spoon because I don't want her to get sick.

Hey!!!! You really need to get virgin coconut oil in a container so you can scoop some out and use it in and on your whole body!!! I've been using vco for about 2 months now and the only moisturizer I use on my body is vco and the only conditioner I use on my hair is vco!!!! I melt and drink 2 tbls of vco in the morning and again when I go to bed. I'm 48 years old and have been using every kind of moisturizer out there and vco is the best I've ever used. Put about 2 tbls of vco on your hair (make sure you get the ends and your scalp) at night before you go to bed and sleep in it. In the morning use just shampoo to wash it out. Your hair will be amazing!!! Taking it internally makes your hair shiny and thick and your skin will feel soft. My 16 yr old daughter uses it on her face for her blimishes. The acid in vco clear up acne.

Colonics will indeed ease your misery from die off. Since the colon and lymphatic system are the waste pathways, they both need to be kept clean. It's basic plumbing.

Re: Psoriasis [Forum: Skin Health]

I'm not sure how much this will help but my son has horrible psoriasas/eczema. We tried so many drugs and creams and got no where, if anything it just got worse. I went to our local nutrional center and they suggested Stem Enhance, Evening Primrose Oil, Fish Oil, and Coconut oil. Taken twice/day everyday. His eczema has almost completely cleared up. We were also told that when he does have a flare up to double up on the above mentioned oils. My son is 9 years old and is finally able to wear a t-shirt to school instead of long sleeves. I hope this helps, it's done wonders for us.

My daughter and I both have Hashimotos - we both now do not have a thyroid - She was not feeling well over a period of time, and she was gaining weight. We had read that most thyroid medications have only T4 medication. However, we need T3 in order to have a 'full complement' of proper treatment. She has been taking the T3, and now has lost the extra weight, feels better, has more energy, although her energy level is not near what it was before her thyroid was ablated (chemically killed). I haven't gone that way yet, but I will be soon. I have a lot more weight to lose that she ever did, and on first blush with my doctor, she is not really willing to go that route. I take much more of the Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, and have ped a couple of pounds, but I am sure that I need extra help. I think that the combination will be the lifeline that I need and have been looking for.

Does anyone have any experience with VCO and arthritis in the knees? If so, how much should one take?

Thanks!

Re: Does Coconut Oil Really Work? [Forum: Thyroid Health ]

That is encouraging to hear about your temperature going up. I am not sure if I have hypothyroidism, but my temps have been low for about a year and a half (regularly under 97 degrees). I've been taking the coconut oil religiously since April 7th of this year, so just over a month. I always take at least 3 tablespoons a day, sometimes one or two more. So far I haven't noticed any major changes, except I had a normal length cycle last month, which hasn't happened very often over the last year. I am hoping to see a change in temperature soon. I try to stay low-carb, but I have a difficult time avoiding sweets. I go through stages where I do for a week and then I totally don't. I'll update you on my progress in a few weeks.

Athletic performance/exercise [Forum: General]
Sat, 10 May 2008 15:39:00 EST
Is anyone else experiencing sustained energy for working out from coconut oil? I am a 5/6 day a week exerciser-running, elliptical and weights-and I have never had the sustained energy I feel now. It seems like I can run and run and run now, whereas pre-coconut oil, I would really slow down/lose steam after about 20 mins cardio. I have been using about 2-3 tsp of virgin coconut oil for about 11 days now. I am interested in anyone else's experiences regarding vco and exercise.

The first day of taking co causes me to get nauseated and throw up, if I take too much. You have to start slow. After the first nausea though no nausea on second day if you back a bit. I have been using coconut oil for 3+ years now but every now and then I forget that I haven't taken it for a while and overdo on the amount. Oops! It happens every time though, I wake up in the middle of the night heading for the bathroom.

I am a 47 year old male who suffers from seb derm and rosacea. I am currently experiencing a flare-up and am using cortisone cream with limited success. I've been to an allergist, had the blood tests done, and am allergic to nothing. I've been to a dermatologist who say's it's not diet related, and prescribed me cotrisone cream and an anti-fungal cream. It seems the medical community isn't as useful as I thought they were. I am going to start using VCO in the hopes it will help.
